Massive congrats to our very own Dom Orlando as he celebrates his 30^th anniversary with Shacks in Fremantle. Dom grew up in Fremantle and started work with us in 1993 as an apprentice mechanic and is now our service centre workshop controller.

Shacks were the first curb site petrol bowser in Fremantle in 1923, the first General Motors Dealer in 1934, the first HSV dealer in WA in 1984 and now we are opening the first ACDelco service centre in WA at our historic Queen Victoria Street dealership.

Shacks has teamed up with service giants ACDelco so that we can service a much wider range of makes and models, as well as the trusty Holden.

“Now under one roof, trained technicians using quality all-makes ACDelco parts are able to service the needs of all motorists,” says Paul Rietveld, Aftersales Director for General Motors ANZ. “ACDelco have an excellent reputation for quality and affordability, so its logical that customers are demanding the use of ACDelco for their vehicle servicing”.

Please come with your friends and family to join to team to celebrate this exciting opening on 15 October from 9am to 1pm at 64 Queen Victoria Street, Fremantle. The Fremantle Mayor, Hannah Fitzhardinge, will officially open the service centre at 10am.

A well deserved congratulations to Doug Kerr for winning the MTA WA Automotive Industry Recognition Award. Since joining the industry in 1969, Doug has been pivotal in driving positive change including the regulatory and governance processes in the industry. He has been, and continues to be, a passionate advocate for the motor industry.

The automotive industry is on the precipice of seismic change, with the rapid take up of electric vehicles set to transform the car market and supply chains.
